Yet again, our nation experienced another horrific tragedy where children were senselessly killed by gun violence.  The three children and three adults killed in Nashville at the Covenant School will cause a lifetime of grief and loss for their loved ones.  I know this all too well since my son Dylan was killed in the Sandy Hook tragedy in 2012.  Since that horrific day just over ten years ago, we have been working tirelessly in our mission to prevent gun violence and prevent any other parent from experiencing the devastating loss of their child.

At Sandy Hook Promise, we believe gun violence IS preventable if you know the signs. That is why we are bringing our Know the Signs gun violence prevention programs to schools and communities around the country at no cost to educate and empower students, parents and educators.

To date, over 18 million youth and adults in 26,000+ schools and youth organizations from all 50 states have participated in our Know the Signs programs that teach youth and adults how to identify, intervene, and get help for individuals who might be at risk of hurting themselves or others BEFORE a tragedy occurs.   And we are not stopping until all children are safe.
